Is Internet Explorer your web browser of choice? If so, a recent study shows that your IQ is “borderline deficient” and you are “marginally able to cope with the adult world,” the BBC reported today. The study, conducted by consulting firm AptiQuant, scored users of Chrome, Firefox and Safari above 100, while people who prefer IE fall somewhere in the low 80s.

To put it in layman’s terms:

Research was conducted from quizzes administered to over 100,000 people, saving both scores and browsers. Critics of the work don’t seem to say much more than the study is ‘insulting’ and that the scores seem implausibly low. Those defending the results believe that stupid people are attracted to IE, stating, “What it really says is that if you have a low IQ then there are high chances that you use Internet Explorer.” AptiQuant hopes its results will be verified by the latest addition to the scientific method – judicial decision.
