Mark’s Commentary:
I studied karate for a few months after a 10-year-long career in gymnastics. The dojo was cold and smelled like old men and stale sweat. I wasn’t a fan of the katas, and I disliked sparring with the other students. Because of my wonders in flexibility from being a gymnast, I was a brown belt in about four months. Before the brown belt ceremony, I quit. I felt that I didn’t earn that belt. Now Stax and Lincoln are TRUE students of martial arts. They have come a long way since Lock Haven.
