Elvis Presley and Margaret Mitchell both died yesterday, but in different decades. Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone With the Wind and did not give a damn about Elvis. What are you doing this weekend?
Stu Horvath: There is a Secret World and I have to go back there. Also drinking and Breaking Bad.
Chuck Moran: This weekend I hope to go the the Gallery 1988 exhibit in NYC. I will also call Sam Machkovech at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, just for the fun of it.
John McGuire: This weekend I’ll be at the Dr. Who Experience in Cardiff and then havin’ a few drinks in Dublin. Be excellent, world.
Ian Gonzales: This weekend I go for round 2 with a root canal. I have Jeff Lemire’s The Underwater Welder, Uncanny X-Force: The Dark Angel Saga and a ton of movies queued up in Netflix in preparation for a lazy Saturday afternoon.
Dave Trainer: This weekend I will be going to the New Jersey Aquarium. There is a Megalodon exhibit, the greatest sea badass to ever live. I’m also going to play some more Max Payne 3 – killing bad dudes whilst jumping through windows all in slow motion never gets old. The game also really makes me want to drink…
Don Becker: Daydrinking and Jenga with my broomball teammates in Brooklyn. It almost feels like my whole summer has been building up to this.
Garrett Martin: This weekend is totally open. I will probably play some videogames at some point (Rock Band Blitz, Papo & Yo, more SoundShapes) and do some writing
work. I have the last six weeks of Impact Wrestling on my DVR and might start watching those on Saturday mornings. Exciting times.
Matt Marrone: Working. Drinking. Not necessarily in that order.
Ethan Sacks: I will be bracing from the angry deluge of emails for a Daily News article I wrote ranking the top 20 greatest action movies of all time. Brace yourself, Don “Anonymous death threats” Becker, I ranked Jackie Chan ahead of Schwarzenegger. Not since I made out with Rupert Sanders and it was caught on camera have I been this nervous.
Ken Lucas: I will most likely be heading south to Cherry Hill for the Monster Mania Expo. It’s been a few years since I’ve attended a horror con, so I’m looking forward to it. If I don’t make it there, then you might find me at Farm Fest in Princeton.
Dan Imperiale: Just got my hands on the iRig, so instead of enjoying the beach on this sunny weekend, I’ll be sitting around playing guitar and eating prepackaged Indian food.
Mark Mariano: Saturday, I’ll be enjoying some time outside at a family party. Sunday my wife and I will be catching up with True Blood.
Brian Taylor: I’m going to a baby shower.
Chris Dahlen: Spending Saturday at the Gameloop unconference in Boston, and on Sunday, we’ll try to do some kind of outdoor thing. Can’t believe summer’s almost over. I think Jim Morrison put it best: “Summer’s almost gone/Summer’s almost gone/We had some good times/But they’re gone.”
Richard Clark: I’m at GenCon!
Ryan Kuo: I’m currently packing for my move to Boston. I saved the best part for last: Deciding which records will go in the record crate (all DMZ, probably no neurofunk).
Jordan Mammo: Four more days in Vietnam to round out the week, so I’ll (hopefully) be avoiding typhoons and exploring Hanoi and Ha Long Bay.
J.P. Grant: Celebrating our three-year wedding anniversary with a traditional viewing of the film that made us fall in love — Leprechaun 4: In Space.
