Toy Fair is literally around the corner, so I thought I would take some time to preview what is on the horizon for toys this year.

Announced at the UK Toy Fair, Bandai is resuscitating the Thundercats. They will be released in 4”, 6” and 8” sizes along with an 8” classic line which will start off with a classic Lion-O. Warner Brothers Animation has begun production on the new Thundercats cartoon which is being spearheaded by a popular Japanese animation company. Mezco will also be releasing a 14” classic Lion-O.

Warner Brothers has also released pre-Toy Fair pictures of the Mattel Green Lantern Movie Masters figure which is sculpted using digital files from the film.

Speaking of movies, Hot Toys has released pictures of their limited edition Movie Masters Series Thor. It is a movie-accurate likeness of Chris Hemsworth as Thor and has tons of accessories including the famous Mjolnir Hammer.

A few weeks ago, Sideshow Toys previewed the next installment in the G.I. Joe line with Stalker. The Stalker Exclusive Edition comes with a commando sweater and both the regular and exclusive editions are priced at $124.99.

Kaiyodo released pictures of the 25th figure in their Revoltech line and it’s Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Currently available from Hasbro is wave 2 of the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra line that features the first ever modern edition of Low Light. He is sure to become a hot commodity. Also available from DC Direct is series 8 of The Blackest Night figures. This assortment contains Black Lantern, Black Flash, Orange Lantern Lex Luthor, Indigo Tribe Atom and Sinestro Corps Scarecrow.

That’s a wrap for the 2011 preview. I hope to have a lot to talk about come Toy Fair 2011.
